For weeks now, St. John’s has performed like a top four protected NCAA Tournament seed.
Rick Pitino’s team hasn’t lost since Jan. 3, winning 13 games in a row.
They have beaten the other top two teams in the league, Connecticut and Villanova, and are coming off a 29-point rout of Marquette.
Yet, according to most experts who track tournament seeding, St. John’s is currently considered a No. 5 seed.
