For the second consecutive day, the Giants did plenty of good things in a joint practice with the Jets.

Day 2, in front of their own fans at their own facility, the Giants were especially sharp on defense and there were some fisticuffs on offense.

Here are a few takeaways:

1. It was a good sign for the Giants that guard Evan Neal, cornerback Dru Phillips and wide receiver Jalin Hylatt all were able to work after sitting out the first joint practice session with the Jets. Malik Nabers was dressed to practice but watched from the side, and cornerback Deonte Banks was also out of action. With Banks out, Cor’Dale Flott was able to gain extra snaps in their battle for a starting job. Jermaine Eluemunor was not in attendance, as his wife gave birth and he spent the day with his family. Rookie Marcus Mbow moved in at right tackle with the first-team offensive line.
