The courtroom drama that briefly hovered over Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani has quietly faded into the Hawaiian breeze.

According to TMZ, Ohtani and his longtime agent Nez Balelo have settled their dispute tied to a proposed $240 million luxury housing project on Hawaii’s Big Island.

Attorneys for both sides agreed to dismiss the lawsuit with prejudice, bringing a definitive end to the case and closing the door on all claims tied to the failed development venture.

The lawsuit, originally filed by developer Kevin Hayes Sr. and real estate broker Tomoko Matsumoto, accused Ohtani and Balelo of undermining their role in the high-end residential project after initially joining the venture as promotional partners.

The plaintiffs alleged the pair attempted to push them out of the deal by pressuring a business partner and threatening legal action, moves they claimed were designed to secure greater financial control of the project.

Those accusations will now remain unresolved in court, replaced instead by a private settlement.

For Ohtani, the timing offers relief. The two-way superstar can now turn his attention back to the field as he prepares to represent Team Japan in the quarterfinals of the World Baseball Classic.

After the WBC, Ohtani will return to the back-to-back World Series champion Dodgers as they prepare for Opening Day of the 2026 MLB season on March 26 against the Diamondbacks.
