- The cat made a full recovery after 21 days
A Belgian cat miraculously cheated death after falling from a seventh floor window for the second time.
Two-year-old Kushi the cat had to be fitted with casts on both of his front legs after surviving the drop from a balcony in a Brussels apartment complex back in April.
The cat fractured one leg, while the other suffered a sprain, but he luckily did not need surgery for any of his injuries.
His owner, 28-year-old Feim Mehmed, who works in marketing in Brussels, said he’d been out grocery shopping when Kushi jumped.
‘His front legs were twisted when we found him’, he said.

‘It’s so high and I expected him to be badly hurt maybe even with a fractured skull but he seemed totally fine.
‘The vet said Kushi didn’t need surgery after all as his bone was healing on its own.’
Incredibly, Kushi made a full recovery within 21 days, bouncing back to his usual self.
Feim said: ‘He kept chewing the cast so we got it changed again after 10 days but the vet removed the cast in just three weeks and he was able to walk normally after.’
Since the incident in April, Kushi has been staying at Feim’s sister on the first floor to prevent any more life-threatening jumps.
It comes after an overweight cat fell 90ft from a Bangkok balcony last year, but only sustained minor injuries.
Shi Fu, the cat, had been walking along its unnamed owner’s balcony wall when it slipped and plunged from the sixth floor of a building in the Thai city on May 27.
Apiwat Toyothaka, owner of a red MG outside the block of flats, said staff had called him to say a cat had fallen onto his car. He found the rear windshield fully smashed.
Shi Fu’s owner was also crying at the scene and said she had forgotten to close the balcony door to her flat, allowing the cat to wander off.
The cat was rushed to the vet and found to have several bruises, two broken claws, and a swollen nose from crashing into the glass, but had no life-threatening injuries.
