Ricky Saints has accomplished plenty in his year-plus since joining NXT and is one of the faces of the brand as it returns to the Theater at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night (8 p.m., CW) for Roadblock. The former AEW star will also look to defeat on-screen friend Ethan Page, champion Joe Hendry and Tony D’Angelo to claim the NXT championship for a second time in a fatal four-way at Stand & Deliver on Saturday (7 p.m., YouTube).
Ahead of a busy week, Saints took time for some Q&A with noti.group’s Joseph Staszewski.
Q: How important is it for NXT to get the New York exposure to be back here for a second straight year at the Garden?
A: New York is a very important piece of wrestling history. It is ingrained within wrestling in itself. To have NXT come and not only be at Madison Square Garden and be in front of those fans and be in this town is so extremely important. I can’t express to you enough that wrestling is better because of New York itself, the fans, the venue, the atmosphere. It can’t get any better.
