Chuck Norris spent his golden years peak condition, including climbing an iconic Northern California peak only months before his shocking death at 86.

The famed martial artist and action star summited the 10,457-foot Lassen Peak in September, celebrating the accomplishment in an Instagram post.

“What a day! I had the pleasure of hiking Lassen Peak once again,” he wrote.

The mountain marks the southernmost active volcano in the Cascade Range, which most recently erupted between 1914 and 1917.

In his post, Norris said that he had hiked the volcano before, and “walking those trails brought back so many wonderful memories.”

He also noted that his wife, Gena O’Kelley, grew up in the area.

“’ll always be grateful she introduced me to such magnificent sight. God bless,” he concluded.

According to the National Park Service, the difficulty level of hiking Lassen Peak is “strenuous” with a round-trip distance of five miles. It can take up to five hours to reach 10,457 feet.

The feat is reflective of Norris’s reputation as a rugged, stoic action hero with unstoppable power.

Just 10 days ago, on his 86th birthday, Norris posted a display of his fighting skills on Instagram.

“I don’t age,” the legendary actor told his followers at the time. “I level up.”

Norris was reportedly rushed to the hospital on Wednesday over a medical emergency in Hawaii. On Friday, his family announced his “sudden” passing, adding it would keep the circumstances around his death private.

Norris is survived by O’Kelley and their 24-year-old twins, Dakota and Danilee, as well as three children from previous relationships — Mike, 63, Dina, 62, and Eric, 60.

Even in death, Norris still gave off an unrelenting aura.

“He didn’t die, he just transcended to a different reality,” one Instagram user commented. “Forever a legend.”
