Red Bull New York completed the overhaul of its attack on Monday, officially completing the transfer of Jorge Ruvalcaba and signing him through the 2029-30 MLS season.

Ruvalcaba is the latest addition for the Red Bulls during what has been a busy offseason for new head of sport Julian de Guzman and new head coach Michael Bradley.

While the Red Bulls did not reveal the transfer fee that the club is paying for Ruvalcaba, it has been reported at $6.5 million, which would be the largest in club history.

The Post had confirmed last week that RBNY was finalizing a deal with the winger after he spent five years with Liga MX side UNAM Pumas.

Ruvalcaba will take the Red Bulls’ third designated player spot on the roster for this season, but he will be eligible for Targeted Allocation Money for future seasons.

“He is a dynamic, creative attacker that has shown great potential and a strong work ethic, and we are confident that he will contribute to our success both on and off the field,” de Guzman said in a statement on Monday.

During his 100 appearances in Liga MX, Ruvalcaba has 16 goals and nine assists.

Speaking to the media on Monday from the Red Bulls Whippany, New Jersey, training facility, Bradley said that Ruvalcaba had been a player that he had been keeping an eye on since he took over as head coach.

“I watched a little bit, and watched what the club had prepared in terms of video, in terms of background information, data,” Bradley said. “And then I spent even more time myself watching, and it was a player that, for me, really fits what we’re trying to do. Young, exciting attacking player who is dynamic and wants to be aggressive, wants to take balls on the move, wants to find different ways to get into the box, score goals, set up goals, against the ball.

“He’s a guy that chases and presses and gives everything he has for the team. The more I watched, the more I was really excited about the possibility of bringing him to Red Bull New York.”

Ruvalcaba now joins Cade Cowell on the wing of Red Bulls 2025 leading scorer Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting as Bradley re-imagines the club’s offensive philosophy.

Since his arrival, Bradley has preached a style of soccer that merges the traditional press that Red Bull has utilized with one that values possession and plays wider, putting a greater emphasis on wingers.

In an interview with amNewYork, Ruvalcaba expressed excitement about getting to play with Choupo-Moting and Cowell.

“Having these types of players by your side motivates you to want to learn and be better. So it’s definitely something that I’m looking forward to. I’m sure that we’re gonna have a great connection,” he told the outlet.
