Celebrities and influencers rarely admit to getting plastic surgery procedures and tweakments – instead, they credit their changing looks to everything from finally getting enough sleep to using face tape.
But what does it feel like to be a plastic surgeon who sees their work credited as something else entirely – and what do celebrities use as plastic surgery excuses?
To find out, FEMAIL reached out to surgeons all across the country about their experiences.
Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Benjamin Eskenazi told FEMAIL he operated on ‘a well-known film actor’ a few years ago and gave him an eyelid rejuvenation procedure.
‘During the pandemic, there was a rush in Hollywood to get work done while everybody was isolating and masking in public,’ Dr. Eskenazi, who’s based in Miami, Florida, revealed.
‘He was reaching that age where a lot of guys begin to look really tired around the eyes and he made a comment in my office that some of the biggest A-listers he knew were getting work done and he was concerned about falling behind.’
‘I recently saw an interview where he attributed his youthful appearance to a better sleep and nutrition regimen that he “dialed in during COVID downtime,”‘ Dr. Eskenazi said.
‘Of course, I know that’s not the only thing he was working on,’ Dr. Eskenazi quipped.

Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Niccole, based in Newport Beach, California, has had ‘countless influencers and celebrities’ as clients, many who come in for facelifts.
Dr. Niccole explained that many celebrities will leave ‘Beverly Hills and all the paparazzi for a more private and quieter location,’ and venture to nearby Orange County instead.
Dr. Niccole has heard people ‘credit everything but their facelift,’ even though he said there’s no substitute when it comes to sagging or deep wrinkles.
‘Once, I heard that a patient who said she used lifting tape,’ Dr. Niccole said about the inexpensive product, which became a viral TikTok trend and is favored by celebrities for an instant lift.
‘Of course, those kinds of products probably only work for a few hours. Some have even credited using topical creams or over-the-counter skincare products.’
Aesthetic concierge Persana co-founder Dr. Babak Azizzadeh told FEMAIL he had a celebrity patient from London fly to Beverly Hills for a deep plane facelift, neck lift, blepharoplasty and CO2 laser resurfacing last year.
Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, is a subtle $20,000 procedure that offers a precise way to lift the face without undergoing a facelift.
Many celebrities have been undergoing the tweakment, because it only necessitates a few weeks of recovery time, letting them get back to the red carpet and premieres.

‘She was telling people that she had been on a mind and body desert spa retreat of sorts,’ the facial plastic surgeon revealed.
Dr. Azizzadeh appreciated that ‘she felt her results were undetectable and therefore able to freely discuss her journey in this way,’ especially since there’s more speculation around which celebrities are getting work done with the rise of social media.
It’s not just A-listers who are lying about their procedures.
There are also major influencers who don’t want to reveal the secrets behind their evolving looks, especially if their career is based on them.
New York City-based plastic surgeon Dr. Darren Smith told DailyMail.com that he ‘treated a globally recognized health guru with liposuction and achieved significant results.’
The fitness influencer ended up attributing the major transformation to her own diet and exercise program.
‘Whether she chooses to share her journey is entirely up to her,’ Dr. Smith said.
