Head coach Mike Sullivan was not talking about Braden Schneider when he cited the philosophical balancing act all organizations encounter when assessing how best to develop prospects following Thursday’s morning skate in advance of the match at the Garden against the Devils.
Sullivan has talked about this multiple times throughout camp, but in this particular situation, he was responding to a question about defenseman Scott Morrow before launching into a big-picture view.
“The question we are all trying to answer is how do we find the path that is best suited for a young player to become an impact player in the most expeditious fashion,” Sullivan said.
He was talking about Morrow, the 22-year-old righty acquired from Carolina in the K’Andre Miller exchange who is vying for a spot. The coach has also made the same point previously when asked about forward prospects Gabe Perreault and Noah Laba.
