An argument between two women at a gym turned into a mass brawl with the pair pulling each other’s hair and trading punches to the head.

In the shocking footage, filmed in the city of Goiania, central Brazil, two women – one wearing brown and the other wearing yellow – can be seen slapping each other while a third woman attempts to break up the scuffle.

As the fight intensifies, the gym-goers start hitting each other more aggressively and pulling hair. Two men try to intervene and break up the brawling women.

The video then cuts to show the same women arguing over a squat rack with a desperate bystander trying and failing to keep the peace.

She manages to move the women away from each other but they continue to fight and crash into a rack of weights.

The woman in brown then starts kicking out at the mediator.

In the seemingly never-ending disagreement, the women were then spotted fighting in another section of the gym as shocked onlookers watched on aghast.

The quarrel escalates further as the women resort to kicking one another before a group of men intervene to try and break up the fight once and for all – but not before one of the women lands a final kick.

The fight reportedly took place at the Bluefit gym on Monday December 16, with the gym telling local media that it did not condone violence in any form.

Witnesses said that the women began arguing over a piece of workout equipment and that the verbal disagreement quickly turned physical.

People reportedly tried to break up the fight on a number of occasions but the women started fighting again.

A student who witnessed the incident, who preferred not to be named, told local media: ‘I spoke with the instructors, and the fight happened because of sharing equipment.

‘Since it’s the end of the year, the gym is crowded, and they ended up having a disagreement. Jokes were exchanged, and it escalated to the point where they started fighting.’

According to the gym-goer, after being separated, the women were taken to the manager’s office.

However, he could not confirm whether the individuals involved were expelled from the gym.

Bluefit said that the police were not called and no one suffered any serious injuries.
