Something tells me that if I had asked for mailbag questions on Monday — as in, four days ago — they would have mostly skewed positive.
Instead we waited until Thursday morning, after back-to-back terrible losses, and, of course, the questions were born out of the sky falling once again.
Oh, what a difference a few days can make. Then again, both times there would have been a handful of questions about Anthony Volpe, because his present and future status are among the Yankees’ most pressing issues as they head down the stretch. Of course, the bullpen did its best to try to steal the negative attention back over the first two games of the Tigers series — before a convincing win in Thursday night’s series finale.
But we’ll start with another popular question, because it relates to the bullpen question in some way: Who starts Game 3 of a playoff series?
