Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill raised some eyebrows with his joyful reaction after suffering a gruesome season-ending leg injury in Miami’s 27-21 win over the Jets on “Monday Night Football.”

Hill was all smiles and waving and clapping at the home crowd while being carted off of the field at Hard Rock Stadium as Miami had 10-3 lead over New York in the third quarter.

Many struggled to wrap their head around Hill’s demeanor after his left leg got tangled up and bent awkwardly when he caught a crucial third-down pass and ran out of bounds.

“I looked more miserable getting up for work this morning than Tyreek Hill did getting carted off after that gruesome injury,” one person wrote on X.

“It’s bizarre seeing hm smile. Obviously in shock,” another added.

The All-Pro receiver had his cleat cut off and his leg was put in a stabilizer, according to the ESPN broadcast.

Hill, who reportedly suffered a knee dislocation, torn ACL and other torn ligaments, underwent surgery on Tuesday. It is possibly he will undergo multiple surgeries.

His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, shared a photo of Hill in the hospital before his surgery, with his parents, Derrick Shaw and Anesha Sanchez, pictured at his bedside.

“You got this @cheetah,” Rosenhaus wrote.

Hill shared another snapshot of himself in the hospital while making a thumbs up gesture.

“Here we go,” he wrote, including a peace sign emoji and a red heart, on his Instagram Story.

Hill asked for prayers in another video he posted on X.

“About to go in for this surgery. Keep your boy in your prayers,” Hill said. “You guys have been awesome man — Fins Nation just the whole entire NFL has been amazing, sending me lots of love, lots of prayers. I’m absolutely honored man, granted the situation. But I love you guys so much. Hope to see you soon. Cheetah.”

Hill’s contract contains $1.8 million of per-game active roster bonuses in 2025 — $1.4 million of which he’ll now miss out on, according to Spotrac.

With 2026 up in the air, the $36 million owed to him that year is not guaranteed.

If Hill is on the Dolphins roster in March, $11 million (of $29.9 million) becomes fully guaranteed, plus a $5 million roster bonus, per NFL Insider Ian Rapoport.

The Dolphins (1-3) face the Panthers (1-3) on Sunday.
