Mark Sanchez was spotted behaving erratically, stumbling along through the streets of downtown Indianapolis for at least 20 minutes before his violent encounter with his alleged victim, new video of the former Jets quarterback’s movements from the night shows.
Surveillance video shows the ex-NFL star appearing to wander around drunkenly, retracing his steps, leaning against a wall, and breaking intermittently into bursts of jogging before 12:30 a.m. early on Saturday, when he was allegedly stabbed by 69-year-old grease truck driver Perry Tole following an altercation between the pair, video obtained by TMZ shows.
Tole is seen pulling up into an alleyway in his truck at 12:05 a.m., according to the video.
Seven minutes later, Sanchez is seen walking unsteadily out of the alley, but doesn’t appear to be injured or agitated.
At 12:14 a.m., the Fox Sports analyst is spotted strolling down the sidewalk close to the alley, just yards from the Indiana State Capitol.
But just 90 seconds later, he is seen walking back in the opposite direction, the video shows.
He walks toward the alley before pausing and continuing very slowly down the street and out of camera view.
Some six minutes later, he comes back and leans against a wall at the entrance to the alley for a further two minutes.
A bystander walks past Sanchez and the pair appear to have a brief conversation before the person walks away and Sanchez turns and starts walking down the alley toward the loading dock where Tole is parked.
At 12:25 a.m. he pauses behind a dumpster before suddenly jogging toward Tole’s truck and out of camera view.
He is next seen on camera at 12:30 a.m. clutching his chest after Tole allegedly stabbed him when the 38-year-old Sanchez violently assaulted him in the alley.
