A Panamanian bodybuilding influencer who had nearly 46,000 Instagram followers, has mysteriously died just days after she celebrated her 35th birthday.
The family of Johanna Perez, known to her followers as Johafit, confirmed her passing in a social media post.
‘On the 23rd of October, our beloved Johanna Perez found eternal peace. Her kindness and joy live on in our hearts’, they said.
Her family invited her followers and friends to join them in a service taking place today to ‘honour her beautiful soul’, telling attendees to wear colourful clothes to pay tribute to the influencer’s ‘vibrant spirit.
They did not give a reason for Johanna’s unexpected death.

The cause of Perez’s death is not known
The health influencer and professional bodybuilder was among the first women to compete in bodybuilding tournaments in her native Panama, and had won several awards during her career.
She ventured into digital content creation and launched a successful Instagram page where she promoted nutritional and fitness tips.
Just days before her death, the bodybuilder had shared a snap of her flexing her muscles on a beach on her birthday next to two birthday balloons that read ’35’.
She wrote: ‘Thank you God for giving me another wonderful and magical year of life, may it be filled with love, health, desire, money, happiness, strength and peace.
‘Thank you for allowing me to live each day doing what I love, surrounded by wonderful people, adding incredible experiences, and fulfilling all my goals little by little.’

Perez’s death has shocked her followers, with several paying tribute to the bodybuilder.
One fan wrote: ‘Without knowing you, I am mourning the loss of you, knowing that I will not find your good content anymore’.
Another said: ‘You could see how beautiful she was inside. May she rest in peace’.
It is unclear if the authorities are looking into the cause of her death.
It comes a month after a teenage body builder was found dead at his home in Brazil after suffering a reported heart attack.
Matheus Pavlak, 19, had transformed his body in just five years after taking up the gruelling sport to overcome his obesity.
He had posted pictures and video footage of his remarkable body transformation on social media.
