Missouri sports betting launches in just two weeks, with the official go-live date set for Dec. 1. It’s an exciting time to be in the Show-Me State with the ability to legally wager on sports on the horizon just as the sports calendar is reaching one of the best points of the year.

The road to sports betting legalization in Missouri has been a winding one. Efforts to create legislation that would offer a pathway to legalization started nearly seven years ago after the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) in 2018.

After a number of bills failed to pass through the state legislature, Amendment 2, a ballot measure to amend Missouri’s constitution, narrowly passed during the November 2024 election, allowing Missouri to become the 39th state to legalize sports betting. Sportsbooks operators will have a 10% tax rate, one of the lowest in the country, which was among the issues cited by voters who opposed to the ballot measure.

Missouri will have nine sportsbook operators in the state: FanDuel, DraftKings, Circa Sports, BetMGM, bet365, Caesars Sportsbook, Fanatics Sportsbook, Underdog Sportsbook, and theScore Bet.

Missouri sports betting pre-registration offers

While Missourians can’t throw down bets on their favorite teams just yet, they can start participating in the pre-registration phase of the state’s sports betting rollout. That means potential new users will be able to create accounts with sportsbooks ahead of the official launch date and take advantage of friendly sign-up offers.

Once sports betting is live on Dec. 1, bettors will be able to wager on the Blues, who play against the Ducks that evening. They’ll have to wait a day to bet on Missouri college basketball. The Tigers face Notre Dame in the ACC/SEC Challenge Dec. 2. Bettors can wager on the Chiefs, who play Dec. 7 against the Texans on ‘Sunday Night Football.”

Why Trust New York Post Betting

Malik Smith has been immersed in the sports betting industry since 2017. He’s a data nerd with a particular focus on the NBA and combat sports. He spends his weeknights in the winter looking for edges on plus-money NBA player props.
