Michigan is already looking for more following their national title win.

The Wolverines reached a deal to bring back star point guard Elliot Cadeau for his senior season, ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported on Thursday.

Cadeau transferred to Michigan ahead of this past season following two years at North Carolina and was a major contributor for the Wolverines, averaging 10.5 points and 5.9 assists while starting all 40 games.

Upon winning the 2026 national championship, the West Orange, N.J. native was named the the NCAA Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player after racking up at least seven assists in all but one game in March Madness.

Cadeau also dropped a game-high 19 points in Michigan’s 69-63 championship win over UConn.

“Man, it means the world to me,” Cadeau said following the win, according to The Michigan Daily. “I’m just so proud of myself, where I came from. Last year I was really down on myself, a lot of people doubted me, and I’m just so proud of myself for me to be able to say I was the Most Outstanding Player and win a national championship at the same time.”

In addition to retaining Cadeau, the Wolverines picked up star big-man J.P. Estrella from the transfer portal on Thursday.

Estrella, who has spent three seasons at Tennessee, told ESPN that he committed to Michigan, marking their first portal acquisition since winning the championship.

The 6-foot-11 redshirt sophomore averaged 10 points and 5.4 rebounds in 18 minutes while mainly coming off the bench for the Volunteers this past season.

Estrella’s Volunteers were ultimately eliminated by Michigan in March Madness following a 95-62 loss in the Elite Eight.

Estrella has two years of NCAA eligibility remaining, and will bring an elite rebounding presence to the Wolverines, finishing second in the SEC with a 17.3 percent offensive rebounding rate.

Cadaeu was quick to show his support for the pick up, commenting “say datttt,” under ESPN’s Instagram post announcing Estrella’s transfer.
