Meghan Markle complains she had to wear tights as royal

Meghan Markle has made a thinly veiled dig at royal life, revealing that she didn’t feel like herself when required to wear tights during official engagements.

The Duchess of Sussex, 44, stepped down as a senior member of the Firm in 2020 and moved to the US with her husband, Prince Harry.

In a new interview with Bloomberg’s Emily Chang, Markle complained about having to “wear nude pantyhose all the time” as a working royal — saying the entire thing “felt a little bit inauthentic” to her.

The former actress, who took part in the interview to promote the second season of her Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan,” said she was “just being myself” in the latest installment of the lifestyle show.

“It was different several years ago where I couldn’t be as vocal and I had to wear nude pantyhose all the time,” Markle said.

“Let’s be honest, that was not very myself. I hadn’t seen pantyhose since movies in the 1980s. That felt a little bit inauthentic.”

“That’s a silly example but it is an example of when you want to dress the way you want to dress and say the things that are true and you’re able to show up in that space really organically and authentically — that’s being comfortable in your own skin,” she continued. “That’s had different chapters in my life.”

“Right now, I don’t feel that I need to prove anything,” the As Ever founder added.

Markle’s new interview dropped just hours after Netflix released eight new episodes of her lifestyle series on the streaming platform.

The new eight-part installment follows a similar format to the first season, which saw the former actress share tips and tricks for hosting at home and getting in tune with at-home hobbies.

The episodes feature guest appearances from Markle’s celeb pals, including Chrissy Teigen, Tan France, Jay Shetty and more.

But just hours after its release, the second season was already brutally bashed by UK critics who slammed the show as “tone deaf” and “self-indulgent.”

In its two-star review=, The Telegraph labeled Markle’s latest episodes “needy,” and said they were only “marginally less mad” than the first season.

Elsewhere, The Times of London said that the latest installment of Markle’s show is “a series in search of a meaning, fronted by a woman in need of some cash.”

In his own account of the second season, The Sun‘s Royal Editor, Matt Wilkinson, called the series “self-indulgent.”

The Guardian, meanwhile, said Markle’s new episodes were “so painfully contrived.”

The episodes were also slammed by celebrity chef Jameson Stocks, who had previously cooked for the royal family.

“I tried to keep an open mind, hoping it might be an improvement on the first series,” Stocks, 41, exclusively told The Post. “But just two minutes in, I was already done with this bulls–t.”

The chef said that the “Suits” alum should be done with her cooking phase and instead “stick to acting,” adding that he found Markle’s series “rather insincere.”
