A German newspaper published an explicit single-world headline after Donald Trump emerged as the victor in the 2024 presidential election.

Die Zeit, which is the country’s biggest weekly paper, posted a reaction piece this morning headlined : ‘F***’.

The piece outlined factors that could result in scenarios for his political opponents, and was penned by Nele Pollatschek for the outlet, which has been published in the city of Hamburg since it was founded in 1946.

In the article, seen by The Latin Times, she wrote: ‘Last time, Trump’s advisors stopped him from doing too much nonsense.

‘Except that he replaced them for exactly that reason. That’s why this time he has very explicitly surrounded himself with people whose core competence is loyalty.’

The outlet reported that Pollatschek also addressed a feeling of anxiety as she watched the election results live.

She wrote: ‘Half past five is also a perfectly appropriate time for feeling helpless, for feeling sorry for yourself, for panicking and for sheer horror.

‘Curiosity is at a low point in the early hours of the morning. The problem, of course, is that the story of Donald Trump has been exhausted since 2016.’

Carmakers in the European nation including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Volkswagen saw their share prices slump after Trump won the election.

The dip came amid fears that he will impose steep tariffs on the industry. He has imposed steeper tariffs on foreign vehicles in order to protect US jobs.

Congratulating Trump on his win, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said: ‘ For many decades, Germany and the United States have been working side by side to promote prosperity and freedom on both sides of the Atlantic.

‘Together with you, I want to continue this successful work for the benefit of our citizens.’

The race initially appeared neck-and-neck as Americans went to the polls Tuesday after a tense months-long build-up.

Democrats had been counting on holding the trio of states – Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania – to give Harris the White House. Biden won them in 2020.

But in the end Harris didn’t improve upon President Joe Biden’s performance against Trump four years ago.

Democrats had been counting on holding the trio of so-called ‘blue wall’ states – Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania – to give Harris the White House.  Biden won them in 2020.

But Trump won them instead, giving him 292 electoral votes to Harris’s 224. It takes 270 to win the presidency.

Harris is now on track to do worse than Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election.

She could even be on pace to have the worst Electoral College result of any Democrat since the 1988 race.

Exit polls show his victory came after he made gains with nearly every voting bloc he lost in the 2020 election and put together a coalition of multi-ethnic working-class voters.

And Harris did worse on Tuesday than Biden in the 2020 contest among key voting groups including women, the working class and Latinos.

Addressing scores of tearful supporters that had gathered at her alma mater Howard University in Washington DC, she said ‘this is not what we wanted’.

She vowed to help with the peaceful transfer of power even as she said she would continue her battle after Trump’s dominant victory.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the former president had swept five of the seven swing states and was on the edge of topping 300 Electoral College votes.

‘While I concede this election, I do not concede the fight that fueled this campaign,’ she said.

Her voice shook at times as she addressed a massive crowd of supporters at her alma mater.

Harris thanked President Joe Biden, her family, her staff and her supporters. She also expressed pride in her campaign.

Ahead of her speech, Harris called Trump congratulating him and urging a peaceful transfer of power and encouraging him to be a president for all Americans.

President Joe Biden then called Trump and invited him to the White House just as Michigan was called – the fifth swing state to go in the Republican’s favor.
