Lindsey Vonn has had yet another surgery on her fractured leg.
The American skiing icon revealed the news Wednesday, three days after her devastating crash in the downhill at the 2026 Winter Olympics that dashed her hopes of grabbing a medal while competing with a torn ACL.
“I had my 3rd surgery today and it was successful,” Vonn wrote in an Instagram post that featured a photo of her in a hospital bed. “Success today has a completely different meaning than it did a few days ago. I’m making progress and while it is slow, I know I’ll be ok.
“Thankful for all of the incredible medical staff, friends, family, who have been by my side and the beautiful outpouring of love and support from people around the world. Also, huge congrats to my teammates and all of the Team USA athletes who are out there inspiring me and giving me something to cheer for.”

Vonn, 41, tore her ACL during a ski crash in Switzerland roughly a week before the start of the Milan Cortina Games.
She crashed into a gate during her first Olympics run and had to be airlifted to a hospital.
Vonn underwent two procedures in the immediate aftermath of the accident. She said in an Instagram post on Monday that she had “no regrets” about attempting to race.
