The last took first.

“The Conjuring: Last Rites” was in the No. 1 spot in the box office Friday, raking in $34.5 million on its opening day, according to The Numbers.

The supernatural horror is the ninth in the “Conjuring” series, loosely based on a true story of a family who moved into a Rhode Island and saw apparitions, heard noises and smelled rotten odors.

Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga reprise their roles as paranormal investigators in the flick, which the New York Times called, “a disappointing send-off; more an eccentric family drama than a real chiller.”

It is expected to take in as much as $75 million this weekend, according to Deadline.

In the second spot was “Hamilton,” which came to theaters Friday after being released on Disney+ in 2020.

The filmed version of the Tony-winning Broadway musical could enjoy earnings of up to $10 million this weekend.

Remaining in third place was “Weapons,” with $1.5 million in sales on its fifth Friday in theaters.

“Freakier Friday” moved up a notch to fourth, with a $960,000 take.

“Caught Stealing,” which was No. 1 last Friday, flew all the way down to fifth, with $940,000 in revenue.
