Kate Middleton has wowed royal watchers by effortlessly pulling off a seemingly difficult feat: Walking backwards in heels down a steep staircase.

The Princess of Wales, 43, visited RAF Coningsby for the first time since she became its Royal Honorary Air Commodore two years ago, and was being shown around one of the aircraft when she pulled the slick maneuver.

Wearing a grey power suit and very high heels, Kate descended the high portable staircase out of the aircraft backwards, never putting a foot wrong.

“Literally in awe of this video of the Princess of Wales today walking down those stairs in heels,” wrote one person who shared the video on X, where its racked up hundreds of thousands of views.

Another pointed out that the feat was even more impressive, given “that is a ships ladder, far steeper & with narrow treads, designed for work boots.”

“I wear high heels all the time and no I wouldn’t have done that so seamlessly and graciously,” read another comment.

It’s not the first time recently Kate has gone viral for a candid, everyday moment caught on camera: Last month, she drove royal watchers wild during an appearance at a Suffolk weaving mill when she twisted her locks into a low bun without using a hair tie.

Video of the simple move racked up millions of views on social media, with some expressing their amusement at how little a royal has to do to go viral these days.

“She broke the internet simply by putting her hair in a bun,” is how one person on X put it.

Meanwhile, Kate’s husband Prince William has given a rare candid interview where he made telling comments about how he’s coped with family turmoil.

The Prince of Wales spoke with US actor Eugene Levy for his AppleTV+ travel program, The Reluctant Traveler.

William’s walls came down over a pint in a Windsor pub as he shared how the weight of the crown didn’t remotely compare to tough times involving family.

“Stuff to do with family overwhelms me quite a bit,” he said.

William continued, “Worry or stress around the family side of things does overwhelm me quite a bit.

“But in terms of doing the job and things like that, I don’t feel too overwhelmed by that … When it’s to do with family and things like that, then that’s where I start getting a bit overwhelmed — as I think most people would, because it’s more personal, it’s more about feeling, it’s more about upsetting the rhythm.”
