The Tyson Foods board has “continued confidence” in John Tyson’s leadership and will keep him as CFO as he awaits trial after being found allegedly drunk and asleep in a stranger’s home last month.

John Tyson, the great-grandson of the company’s founder who has served as Tyson Foods’ CFO since September, was caught on video being awakened by police from a stranger’s bed while appearing drunk on Nov. 7.

“The Board supports Mr. Tyson and has continued confidence in his ability to lead Tyson Foods as CFO,” the Tyson Foods’ board said in a statement Thursday.

The board said that it conducted an independent review of the incident and will move ahead with John Tyson in his current role.

Tyson was caught on a police body camera being arrested in a stranger’s bedroom after the owner called the police when she found “a male she did not know asleep in her bed.”

He has since apologized for the incident, saying, “I’m embarrassed and I want to let you know that I take full responsibility for my actions.”

“I am committed to making sure that this never happens again,” he added.

Despite seemingly copping to the incident, Tyson pleaded not guilty to public intoxication and trespassing charges Thursday.

Tyson’s trial is slated for Feb. 15.
