John Harbaugh is ready to lead Big Blue.
The new Giants’ coach expressed his excitement after finalizing his five-year deal Saturday with the franchise following his 18 years with the Ravens.
The deal is expected to be worth $100 million, according to the Post’s Paul Schwartz.
“This is the New York Giants,” Harbaugh told ESPN. “I’m proud and honored to the head coach of this historic franchise, and especially excited to work with the Mara and Tisch families. But most of all, I can’t wait to get started with the great players on this football team to see what we can accomplish together.”
The Giants pursued Harbaugh from the moment he became a free agent and the sides got to the goal line Wednesday night after a dinner at Elia Mediterranean near MetLife Stadium.
The sides negotiated over three days before finalizing a deal Saturday that will make him the 24th coach in franchise history.
Harbaugh added in an interview with The Athletic that he feels “a great deal of excitement and responsibility because this is the New York Football Giants. And that’s the absolute truth.”
