John Harbaugh’s meeting with his new quarterback was far from brief.

That’s according to ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky, who reported Thursday that Harbaugh and Giants QB Jaxson Dart “met for (2) hours 1-on-1” Wednesday as the Super Bowl-winning coach made his only visit to the team’s facility, which he appears poised to call home.

The Giants pulled out all the stops Wednesday in their courting of Harbaugh, whose 18-year run with the Ravens came to an end last week in a seismic coaching shakeup.

The Falcons and Titans were among the other teams vying for Harbaugh’s services.

In addition to meeting Dart, the 25th overall pick in last year’s NFL draft, Harbaugh dined with Giants GM Joe Schoen at the nearby Elia Mediterranean Restaurant before flying home to Baltimore. Both parties worked toward a union as the evening stretched on, according to noti.group’s Paul Schwartz.

An official agreement had not been announced as of Thursday afternoon.

Here’s the latest on the Giants hiring John Harbaugh:

Dart, 22, is coming off a promising rookie season in which he threw for 15 touchdowns and five interceptions across 14 games, adding nine scores on the ground.

The Ole Miss product is the centerpiece of a young offensive core that boasts star wide receiver Malik Nabers and breakout running back Cam Skattebo.

Injuries and late-game collapses plagued the 2025 Giants, which saw the firing of head coach Brian Daboll midway through his fourth season.

The team went 7-27 over the past two years.

Harbaugh, 63, is certainly up for the task of righting the ship with buzz already swirling about who the Giants coordinators could be.

Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken is the favorite to land the same job in New York, while Jim Leonhard (Broncos defensive pass game coordinator and assistant head coach), Anthony Weaver (Dolphins defensive coordinator) and Giants great Antonio Pierce (former Raiders coach) could be among the candidates Harbaugh looks at for defensive coordinator.
