The Jets fell 30-10 to the Bills at MetLife Stadium on Sunday. Here are some takeaways from the game.

1. Will the real Justin Fields please stand up? This version of Fields looked nothing like the Fields we saw last week against the Steelers. He went 3-of-11 for 27 yards passing for a 39.6 QB rating. He had one long run for 27 yards, but overall did not do much with his legs or his arm. He had a costly fumble in the first quarter and just looked out of sync all day. Now, we don’t know if the Jets will have him next week after he suffered a concussion in the fourth quarter.

This is probably how it will go all season with Fields. There will be games when he looks like the guy who was a star at Ohio State and worth a first-round pick. There will be other games where he looks like a guy on his third team in three years. Consistency will be elusive for Fields, and the Jets will have to hope they get more good days than bad.

2. Jets coach Aaron Glenn has said he wants to be aggressive with his decision-making, but he chose to kick twice on fourth-and-short on Sunday. First, he opted for a field goal on a fourth-and-3 from the Bills 32 with 4:25 left in the first half. Nick Folk made the field goal to cut the score to 20-3. ESPN’s analytics model said going for it gave the Jets a better chance to win. Then, in the third quarter, trailing 23-3, Glenn punted on fourth-and-1 in the third quarter from his own 28. The Jets were deep in their own territory, but at this point in the game they needed to be bold. Instead, Glenn essentially gave up.
