Jason Kidd is staying in Dallas.

The Mavericks head coach agreed on a multiyear contract extension with the franchise, according to NBA insider Marc Stein. Full details of the extension are not known.

The 10-time NBA All-Star has been the head coach in Dallas for four seasons, going 179-149 while leading the Mavericks to the 2024 NBA Finals and the 2022 Western Conference Finals.

In July, Stein reported that Kidd was “expected” to sign an extension with the Mavericks before the 2025-26 NBA season.

Although it isn’t clear how many extra years Kidd is getting, he had two years remaining on his previous contract before the new deal was made.

The new deal comes after Kidd and the Knicks flirted with a possible partnership over the summer.

Despite being under contract with the Mavericks, Kidd was intrigued by the Knicks gig, a source confirmed to The Post in June.

The Knicks and Kidd reportedly had mutual interest, but the Mavericks rejected the team’s request to interview Kidd. Dallas general manager Nico Harrison publicly dismissed the idea that his coach would leave.

Kidd played the last season of his career with the Knicks in 2012-13, teaming up with Carmelo Anthony, Amar’e Stoudemire and Tyson Chandler.

After being rebuffed by Dallas, the Knicks pivoted to Mike Brown after a long coaching search.

The Mavericks are entering their first full season of the post-Luka Doncic era later this month.

After lottery luck went their way, Kidd will get to coach a new young star, No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg, this season and beyond.
