Giants backup quarterback Jameis Winston and his wife, Breion, shared a long hug on the sideline before making his first start of the 2025 season against the Packers at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.

Breion shared the video of the sweet moment in a joint post with Fox Sports on Instagram.

Winston and his wife, who are high school sweethearts, married in 2020.

Their two children, Antonor Malachi and Taurus Allen, were not in the video.

The 31-year-old signal-caller was picked to start in Week 11 over fellow veteran Russell Wilson as Jaxson Dart is in concussion protocol.

It was Mike Kafka’s first big decision as interim head coach after the Giants fired Brian Daboll following a 2-8 start to his fourth season.

Kafka spent nearly four years as an offensive coordinator and assistant head coach on Daboll’s staff.

“We finally made it, huh?” Winston said Wednesday following his first practice as the Giants’ starting quarterback. “We finally made it.”

Kafka sounded confident in his decision and praised Winston for his leadership.

“Jameis has done a great job since he’s been here,” Kafka said. “I got good feel for those guys, and I think Jameis will do a heck of a job. He’s a great leader, he has a lot of production in this league and I think he’s going to do a great job leading that group.”

Wilson was benched for Dart after an 0-3 start.

The Giants lost four straight games before they parted ways with Daboll.

Kafka has the rest of the season to prove he’s a fit for the full-time job.

Midway through the third quarter, Winston had completed 8-of-11 passes for 86 yards as the Giants trailed the Packers, 19-13.

Running back Devin Singletary accounted for both of Big Blue’s touchdowns, rushing in from five and two yards.
