It feels way too soon to say goodbye to A.J. Styles. 

Yes, the Phenomenal One made it clear that 2026 will be his final year as an active wrestler and that the end could come at anytime. I just don’t think anyone was ready for it to even be in the conversation this early, as Styles will put his career on the line against Gunther at the Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia next Saturday.

It can’t end this soon, right? 

Fans need at least a few months to say some proper goodbyes to arguably the best in-ring worker of his generation. Maybe WWE should have given him the Ric Flair treatment (they still could!), where the next time he loses, his career is over, so you can build to a match with the career-killer Gunther.
