Iowa State center Audi Crooks was only a freshman when she dropped 40 points in the first round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
That phenomenal 20-point comeback win against Maryland was the nation’s official introduction to Crooks, who became the first freshman to score 40 in the NCAA Tournament and did so on wildly efficient 18-of-20 shooting.
A video of her taking the Iowa State nameplate and emphatically slapping it on the next box of the bracket went viral.
Crooks has only gotten better since, and she’s established herself as one of college basketball’s best post players.
