How to watch Switzerland vs. Canada Women’s Hockey

OK, this one is for real.

After Thursday’s initial preliminary round match against Finland was postponed due to a norovirus outbreak, Marie-Philip Poulin’s reigning Women’s Hockey 2022 Winter Olympics champion Canada will go skate-to-skate with Alina Muller’s in their first Olympics game of the year at Milano’s Rho Ice Hockey Arena in Milan, Italy.

This showdown will kick off Poulin’s record-tying, fifth (!) Winter Olympics appearance. As of now, the 34-year-old Quebec City native hasn’t decided whether or not this is her final go-round.

“There’s no timeline,” the three-time Gold Medalist said. “I really want to enjoy the moment. I want to take it in. I’m going into my fifth. I can’t believe that, honestly.”

In their first contest, Switzerland scored two goals in the third period to come from behind and topple Czechia on a nail-biting 4-3 shootout following a scoreless overtime.

With the win, they’re currently ranked second in the Group A five-time bracket.
