The 45th Ryder Cup Matches tee off today, and for the first time, it’s being held on Long Island.
Differing slightly from a regular golf tournament, the Ryder Cup is a team event, where the best American golfers face off against the best European golfers in a match play event where each match is worth one point.
It all gets started today with the first two rounds of play. In the morning, four foursome (alternate shot) matches will be played, followed by four fourball (better ball) matches in the afternoon.
