Week 17 of the NFL season is closing out with a Monday Night Football matchup between the Falcons and the Rams with a lot of the line for the Rams.
Los Angeles clinched a playoff spot, but without even playing a game yet this weekend, were eliminated from contending for a division title. Both teams above the Rams in the standings, Seattle and San Francisco, recorded wins this weekend, so the division will officially be decided in a winner-takes-all matchup this weekend. The Rams can no longer win the No. 1 seed either and will enter the playoffs in a wild card spot.
The 6-9 Falcons won’t be making an appearance in the postseason, but they are coming into this week’s game on a two-game winning streak after defeating Tampa Bay in Week 15 and Arizona in Week 16.
