In just a few hours, Sunday Night Football will kick off for Week 2, and this week’s matchup is a battle between two quarterbacks drafted in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

The J.J. McCarthy era in Minnesota got off to a shaky start in Week 1 against the Bears, but two fourth-quarter touchdowns helped lead the Vikings to a 27-24 victory. This week, the Vikings will be without a key defensive player in Andrew Van Ginkel, who was ruled out with a concussion.
The Falcons are coming into Week 2 without a win after losing their Week 1 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 23-20. Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. was 27-of-42 for 298 yards and two touchdowns in only his fourth career start.
McCarthy and Penix Jr. last faced off as the quarterbacks of Michigan and Washington, respectively, in the 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship.
