The 2025 Formula 1 season had no shortage of excitement, and before a new one starts next week, it’s time to take a look back.

Season 8 of the Netflix original docuseries “Formula 1: Drive to Survive” is officially here to relive the highs, lows and everything in between — and for the first time, you won’t need Netflix to watch the new episodes.

Next week, Formula 1 will make the move to Apple TV with the Australian Grand Prix, but before its official debut on the platform, Apple TV subscribers will be able to watch “Drive to Survive” at no additional cost and without Netflix.

The new eight-episode season begins as six rookies enter the paddock for the first time and seven-time World Drivers Champion Lewis Hamilton in his first year with Scuderia Ferrari, and follows McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri throughout the championship race, concluding with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Want to tune in? Here’s how to watch Season 8 of “Drive to Survive” for free.

‘Drive to Survive’ Season 8 release date

All eight episodes of “Formula 1: Drive to Survive” Season 8 were released on Feb. 27.

How to watch F1 ‘Drive to Survive’ for free

All Apple TV subscribers can watch Season 8 of “Drive to Survive” with a subscription. Not a subscriber yet? No problem.

Apple TV comes with a seven-day free trial for new subscribers and has just one ad-free streaming plan available for $12.99/month.

With that one week free trial, you’ll be able to watch Season 8 of “Drive to Survive” at no additional cost.

‘Drive to Survive’ Season 8 episodes

The eight-episode season of “Drive to Survive” spans the entire 2025 F1 season. Here’s what to expect in each episode.

  1. “New Kids on the Track” – a new season begins, six rookies join the grid and Lewis Hamilton makes his Ferrari debut
  2. “Strictly Business” – Alpine and Kick Sauber go head-to-head at the back of the grid
  3. “The Number One Problem” – both McLaren drivers emerge as title contenders, but only one can be on top
  4. “A Bull With No Horns” – focuses on Red Bull’s turbulent season as team principal Christian Horner is relieved of his duties mid-season
  5. “The Sky’s the Limit” – tensions rise in the Williams garage as Alex Albon finds success as Carlos Sainz struggles
  6. “The Duel” – Mercedes and Ferrari fight for second in the Constructors’ Championship
  7. “What Happens in Vegas” – the Las Vegas Grand Prix and the fallout of McLaren’s risky gamble with their drivers
  8. “Call Me Chucky” – Abu Dhabi is here and it’s a three-way fight for the World Driver Championship

F1 on Apple TV: What to know

Starting with next week’s Australian Grand Prix, Formula 1 will move from ESPN to Apple TV.

With an Apple TV subscription, you’ll be able to watch every part of every race weekend live and on replay, from practices and sprints on select weekends to qualifying and the race itself. You also won’t need any additional subscriptions to access any part of F1 on Apple TV.

F1’s move to Apple follows the league’s collaboration with Apple and Warner Bros. on last year’s “F1” movie, which is now a Best Picture nominee at the upcoming Academy Awards.
