At the start of the season, the Nets were on pace to have the worst defense in history.

So far in December, they are vying to have the best in the NBA.

How? Buy-in. Activity. And Noah Clowney.

“I think it’s credit to the coaches to find a way to break things down, and when we got time to practice and watch film with the players and do their 1-on-0 work that they do, embracing the defensive end of the floor,” coach Jordi Fernández said of the turnaround. “And especially the players, because they’re the ones putting the work in and buying into it.
