Hilarious video shows how a whole team of firefighters had to intervene to free a woman from her office chair after her nose ring got caught in it.

The hapless employee in Bandung City, Indonesia, got her piercing stuck in the mesh chair after jokingly sticking her nose through the holes in it, a local fire officer said.

‘She had a new piercing and was playing around, just playing for fun, before she messed up,’ Bandung City Fire Department Officer Asep Rizky told local media.

‘She kept putting the piercing in the chair and it got stuck, and in the end she had to call the fire brigade,’ he added.

CCTV footage from inside her workplace shows the moment she and her fellow employees realise she had got herself into difficulty.

Her face is attached to the back of the wheelie chair and her colleagues come over to try and disentangle her from it.

Half a dozen people gather around to take a look and try to help, but they have no luck and the piece of jewellery stays firmly attached to the chair.

They realised they had no choice but to call the local fire department, who rushed to the premises to offer their assistance.

Still unable to detach her from the chair, they carefully moved her and the seat to a van to take her down to the local fire station.

Her friend who accompanied her on the journey could not contain her laughter, local media reports, even as her friend worried that her new piece of jewellery could be ripped out.

They filmed the whole journey, including the hilarious moment the woman, still facing backwards on the chair, was wheeled out of the car.

The fire crew responded with good humour as they tried to allay her fears and keep spirits high, joking around as the woman continued to panic.

At one point they even brought out a chainsaw and other heavy duty tools, chuckling as they pretended to use them on the chair.

Fortunately, no sawing was necessary and a fire officer with a pair of pliers and a steady pair of hands managed to remove the woman from the chair after around 10 minutes of trying.

They danced around in celebration and the woman, grateful to finally be freed from the chair, thanked them wholeheartedly.

She was not injured and happily posed for a photo with her rescuers – and the pesky chair and nose ring – afterwards.

The bizarre nature of the woman’s predicament and the firefighters’ lighthearted response has seen the footage go viral in Indonesia.

The incident occurred on January 11 and video of it has been shared widely on social media in the days since., with people praising the actions of the firefighters and applauding the woman’s sense of humour at the end of the ordeal.
