Idris Elba will once again find himself in the middle of a hijacking when “Hijack” returns to Apple TV for a second season.

The thriller series was renewed in early 2024 following its acclaimed first season.

Elba stars in the Apple Original as Sam Nelson, a business negotiator who, in Season 1, had to broker an end to the hijacking of a flight from Dubai to London.

In Season 2, “a Berlin underground train and its commuters are taken hostage, while, above ground, authorities scramble to save hundreds of lives. Sam Nelson is at the heart of the crisis on board, where one wrong decision could spell disaster.”

Here’s everything you need to know about “Hijack” Season 2 on Apple TV.

‘Hijack’ Season 2 release date and time:

“Hijack” premieres Wednesday, Jan. 14, on Apple TV. One new episode will come out every Wednesday through March 4.

Apple TV has not confirmed a release time, but the streamer will often release new episodes of original series the night before its listed premiere date. In the case of “Hijack,” you’ll likely be able to watch new episodes as early as 9:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday nights.

How to watch ‘Hijack’ for free:

“Hijack” continues to air exclusively on Apple TV, so you’ll need a subscription to watch the new series.

Apple TV offers a seven-day free trial for users, so you’ll be able to watch a few episodes (depending on when you subscribe) before the $12.99/month payments kick in.

Amazon Prime members can also subscribe to Apple TV directly through Prime Video. It costs the same $12.99/month price and also includes a seven-day free trial.

“Hijack” Season 2 will have eight episodes, one more than Season 1’s seven. Check out the official Wednesday release dates for every episode below, but remember, they may be available to stream around 9:00 p.m. ET the night before the listed date.
