Following the ousting of head coach Brian Daboll, Kafka steps in today and A. inherits the 2-7 team without their star rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart or breakout rookie running back Cam Skattebo. and B. names third-string signal-caller Jameis Winston his starter against Jordan Love’s 5-3-1 Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.
That’s a tall order.
“[Jameis will] do a great job. I have a lot of confidence in [him),” Kafka, 38, said, before noting it was his idea to start Winston.

In regards to Big Blue’s opponent, the Packers are looking to snap a two-game losing streak, which includes two heartbreaking defeats against the middling Carolina Panthers and elite, reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.
“As frustrated as anybody may be out there, I promise you that you’re not as frustrated as I am,” head coach Matt LaFleur shared in a press conference. “We’re working hard at it. I promise you. We’re working hard, and bottom line is on Sunday, we have to go out and perform better.”
