2025 has been a huge year for horror at the box office, and another major horror hit has made its way to home video.

Starting today, “Weapons,” from “Barbarian” director Zach Cregger, is available to stream on-demand at home. Since its release on Aug. 8, “Weapons” has not left the top three in the Box Office, grossing $142 million and counting.

The twisty plot of “Weapons” can best be described by the text on the film’s poster: “Last night at 2:17 a.m., every child from Mrs. Gandy’s class woke up, got out of bed, went downstairs, opened the front door, walked into the dark… and they never came back.”

“Weapons” features an ensemble cast that includes Josh Brolin, Benedict Wong, Alden Ehrenreich, Amy Madigan, and Julia Garner.

In his 3.5 (of 4) star review, noti.group’s entertainment critic Johnny Oleksinski called “Weapons” “the best horror movie of the year.”

‘Weapons’ streaming date:

“Weapons” is streaming on-demand on platforms like Prime Video now! “Weapons” was released on digital Sept. 9.

How to watch ‘Weapons’ on Prime Video:

“Weapons” is available for digital purchase on Prime Video. The film costs $24.99 to buy or $19.99 to rent.

While you won’t have to be a paid Amazon Prime member to buy “Weapons,” you will need at least a free Amazon account; that way, you can return to watch “Weapons” whenever you want to.

Video-on-demand rentals are good for 30 days, but expire 48 hours after you first hit play on a rented title.

‘Weapons’ physical release date:

While you can stream “Weapons” at home now, some may prefer a physical alternative to owning movies digitally, where there’s always the chance that rights may be revoked and you’ll lose that digital access. Physical discs are tangible proof that, as long as you have a player to play them, you’ll be able to watch the movies you own.

The 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD copies of “Weapons” will be released on Oct. 14, but you can preorder now on Amazon to receive your copy on release day.
