Greg Schiano sure sounds comfortable for someone whose entire coaching philosophy soon could be turned upside down.

For most of his 16 years leading the Rutgers football program, the winning formula has involved generating takeaways on defense, weaponizing special teams and using risk-averse, ground-and-pound offense.

But Rutgers is not built in that image in 2025. Here is a team with eight returning offensive starters, including a legitimate Big Ten starting quarterback and speed paired with size on the perimeter.

“I think our offense is going to be good,” Schiano told The Post ahead of Thursday’s opener against Ohio. “We scored over 30 points in the last four games [last season] and over 40 in the last two — that hasn’t happened much around here. But we need to develop and grow up on defense fast for us to have the year we want to have.”
