The Post has been granted unprecedented access into the world of the Giants scouting department. In Part 4 of this continuing series, we meet Marcus Cooper, in his seventh year with the Giants, his second as a national scout. A Mississippi native, he is 38 and lives in Buford, Ga.

General manager Joe Schoen on Cooper: “Coop I worked with in Buffalo for a year and then he left us to come over here to the Giants. Coop is one of those scouts who has a very good eye for talent, but he’s also very personable and has a very good read on people. When he gets background on players he just doesn’t talk to the coaches, he ends up knowing cousins, family members, moms, dads, he gets into the weeds with the background and does a phenomenal job there. He’s also a really good talent evaluator as well.”

Q: Your interactions with Jaxson Dart through the process?

A: I spent a whole lot of time with Jaxson, I had him a lot. Had him a year before he even came out of the draft. Me and him were cool and we have a great relationship. I built a great rapport with him for two years.
