The most-anticipated classic rock album of the year is finally here.
Two months after announcing the re-release of the long-lost 1973 record “Buckingham Nicks,” Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks‘ ten-track offering officially hit shelves on Friday, Sept. 19.
As expected, the former lovers and bandmates don’t disappoint.
Highlights include the strummy, sublime “Crying In The Night,” dreamy singalong “Without a Leg to Stand On,” hard-edged rocker “Long Distance Winner,” muscly jam “Don’t Let Me Down Again” and the mystical epic “Frozen Love,” which is allegedly the song that inspired Mick Fleetwood to invite the duo to join Fleetwood Mac.
“We’re so happy this album is getting a second life,” Buckingham shared via Instagram. “We hope you love it.”
And, while Buckingham doesn’t have a tour planned at the moment, the album may gain even more momentum when Stevie Nicks strikes out on her postponed 2025 run.
She’s currently slated to headline at 17 huge venues all over North America from October through December.
That includes gigs at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall on Saturday, Oct. 18 and Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Wednesday, Nov. 19.
“I can’t wait to get back on the road with you…see you soon,” the 77-year-old wrote on Instagram.

At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on tickets for any one show was $108 including fees on Vivid Seats.
Other shows have seats starting anywhere from $111 to $381 including fees.
No word yet on whether or not she’ll bust out a track or two from “Buckingham Nicks” but our fingers are crossed. In any event, at the very least, she’ll likely perform the hits you know and love from her time in Fleetwood Mac and as a solo artist.

Stevie Nicks new music
Oftentimes, albums that you look forward to for months (or sometimes decades) rarely live up to the unreal expectations you set in your head.
However, somehow, miraculously, “Buckingham Nicks” is just as magical as one would dream. Earthy, harmonious and full of joy, sorrow and the classic Fleetwood Mac sound we all know and love.
Here’s our quick track-by-track breakdown:
“Crying In The Night” is the album’s endlessly listenable, deceptively simple lead single. We loved Nicks’ euphoric vocals here. Prepare to spin this one on repeat.
“Stephanie” slows things down. A mournful yet gorgeous acoustic guitar track that shows off Buckingham’s exquisite picking skills.
“Without a Leg to Stand On” gets the party started back up. Lindsey handles vocals here until Stevie kicks in for a gorgeous harmony around the 40-second mark. We love the subtle yet effective tempo changes.
“Crystal” might be a perfect song to walk down the aisle to. Measured pacing and baroque instrumentals lead to a yearning duet between our two bandmates. It’s sad, sweet and somehow energetic. Once again, Stevie and Lindsey are operating on another level.
“Long Distance Winner” quirks up the affair. Offbeat sounds accompany Nicks’ powerful vocals at first before, once again, the song reaches higher heights, turning into a swirling, rock and roll ballad that’s somehow reminiscent of Heart and “Freebird.”
“Don’t Let Me Down Again” could be the blueprint for “Never Going Back Again.” They’re not quite the same but the plucky, playful guitar and vocals certainly share DNA with the “Rumours” classic.
“Django” gives us another break. A lilting, one-minute, acoustic respite that sneaks up on you once the mournful strings kick in.
“Races Are Run” puts us back on track when Nicks’ warm voice warbles over pitter-patter percussions. We argue this one sounds romantic yet far from saccharine. All we know is that we feel the love when the duo belts “Races are run, some people win/Some people always have to lose.”
“Lola (My Love)” finds Buckingham in Joe Walsh country-fried rock territory. Showy wah-wah guitars, yelping vocals and an attitude make for one of the record’s most distinct tunes.
“Frozen Love” has history tied to it. As noted above, this is the song that drew Fleetwood to Nicks and Buckingham. One needn’t have to wonder too much what he saw in the seven-minute epic. Guitar solos you can get lost in, all-out duets and a terrific chemistry between the twosome make for an exhilarating capper to a record that will surely be heralded as an instant classic.
