Toronto Blue Jays slugger George Springer has a busy month ahead of him.
The MLB All-Star is set to attend the wedding of his younger sister, Lena Springer, after Toronto faces off against the defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2025 Fall Classic.
Lena, who is the head softball coach at Trinity College, shared that she’s getting married next month in a post on X while celebrating Toronto’s 4-3 comeback win over the Seattle Mariners in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series.
“A World Series a week before my wedding wasn’t originally on the bingo card for 2025, but boy am I glad it is now!!! Let’s Goooooooooo!!!!” Lena, 30, wrote on X Monday following her brother’s three-run go-ahead home run that secured the Blue Jays’ spot in the World Series for the first time in three decades.
The 2025 World Series begins Friday in Toronto and will run through Oct. 28, at the least.
The Fall Classic could go until the start of November, with a Game 6 scheduled for Oct. 31 and Game 7 on Nov. 1, if necessary.
It’s unclear exactly when and where Lena is getting married.
The siblings grew up in New Britain, Conn.
“Lots of amazing things happening!! LETS GO JAYS!!” Lena wrote under an Instagram post by ESPN, which said she is finalizing her wedding details during the outfielder’s big career moment.
“For the third time, I get to watch you in the World Series. Is this real life?” Lena said in another tweet, adding a photo of their family, with his wife, Charlise Springer, and their two kids during Toronto’s ALCS triumph over the Mariners.
The 36-year-old Springer won his first World Series with the Astros in 2017. He was named World Series MVP and made the MLB All-Star team that year.
Springer later signed a six-year, $150 million contract with the Blue Jays in 2021, after seven seasons with Houston.
The Dodgers and Blue Jays played one series this year, with Los Angeles taking two of three in August.
Los Angeles will have a week until the start of the World Series after they swept the Brewers in the National League Championship Series.
The Dodgers are looking to defend their title after beating the Yankees in 2024.
