Luckily for some brawling fans, a “Big Night Aht” didn’t turn into a big night in jail.
Social media video showed a brawl that took place inside PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh during Wednesday’s special live Pat McAfee event.
While the NFL punter-turned-sports talk host was on stage, fans in the upper level of the Penguins’ home arena were seen swinging at each other while other fans tried to calm the situation down before security arrived to break things up.
At one point during the chaotic scene, a man in a black shirt was shoved by a man in a blue button-down shirt that was open and the two started to throw punches at each other.
The man in the black shirt then takes a tumble down the stairs of the section and the other man then continued to throw punches, seemingly connecting with the man’s head several times before onlookers try to break them up.
Security can be seen then arriving after things have started to calm down.
It’s unclear what started the fight and police told TMZ that they helped arena security escort the people involved in the fight out, but no arrests were made.
A second video from another angle showed the tumble the man in the black shirt took and him appearing to hit his head on the side of a seat as he fell.
The respective videos of the brawl drew more than 151,000 and nearly 50,000 views on X by Thursday afternoon and had been covered by multiple media outlets.
The “Big Night Aht” event drew a sold-out crowd to PPG Paints Arena to see the popular ESPN personality.
Special guests included a slew of local sports stars, including Sidney Crosby, Paul Skenes and Ben Roethlisberger, along with celebs Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Jelly Roll and Shane Gillis.
