Every time the Thunder lose a game, it feels like an event — it has only happened eight times so far this season. OKC stumbled on the road Saturday in Miami, losing 122-120. More importantly, Jalen Williams left the game with a hamstring injury and won’t suit up for the Cavaliers game.
The Cavs have underperformed at an embarrassing rate this season. Injuries have certainly made things difficult for them, but they don’t look like the same team that beat the Thunder last January in what felt like an NBA Finals preview. They will miss Darius Garland for this game as he deals with a lingering toe injury.
As both teams try to push through the January doldrums, the high-powered Cavs offense will need to be at its best to best the Thunder defense for 48 minutes.
