Former Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez was “acting erratically” and doing wind sprints in an alleyway moments before he allegedly got into a fight with a grease truck driver that ended with him being stabbed in Indianapolis, according to a new report.

Sanchez, 38, was charged with battery resulting in injury, public intoxication, and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle for his alleged role in the incident in which he was stabbed by the grease truck driver, who is claiming self-defense, according to authorities.

The retired QB, who spent four seasons at the Jets, reportedly got into an altercation with the 69-year-old grease disposal truck operator after Sanchez complained that the truck was blocking a nearby alley, sources told Fox 59.

Before the dispute, Sanchez was doing “wind sprints” in the alley behind the bar where he was drinking and “acting erratically,” the station reported, citing sources.

The stabbing occurred shortly after midnight on Saturday in downtown Indianapolis.

noti.group’s front cover on Sunday, October 5, features the story of Sanchez’s arrest and stabbing.

Sanchez remains in the hospital in a critical condition after being stabbed in the chest, and is yet to be booked into the Marion County Jail, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

He was charged after police reviewed area surveillance video and spoke with the driver of the grease disposal truck, the law enforcement source said.

Police found a trail of blood in the alleyway where the stabbing took place.
