The Eagles head to the nation’s capital to take on the Commanders on Saturday.
With Washington’s season in shambles and the Philly jockeying for playoff positioning in the NFC, the Eagles are a heavy seven-point favorite and should walk away with a win relatively unscathed.
That’s a good sign for running back Saquon Barkley, who gets a soft match-up right as it appears that he’s putting it together.
The Commanders have been one of the worst teams in the league against the run this season, allowing 4.7 yards per attempt, which is tied for the fifth-most in the NFL.
Since Week 4, Washington opponents have rushed for fewer than 128 yards in just two of their 11 games.
While they’ve yet to face off this season, Barkley has run wild against the Commanders in the past.
In three games last season, including the NFC Championship game, Barkley averaged 138 yards on the ground versus Washington.
After a slow start to the 2025 season, Barkley has looked more like his all-world self of late.
Last week, Barkley ran for 78 yards despite Tank Bigsby getting in the mix for 17 handoffs, given the 31-0 blowout over the Raiders.
Betting on the NFL?
Barkley had one of his best games of the season a week earlier against a solid Chargers defense, rushing for 122 yards on just 20 attempts.
With oddsmakers pegging his rushing yard prop a bit lower than we’re used to, given a disappointing season overall, take the Over in a bet that the real Barkley is back.
The play: Saquon Barkley Over 75.5 rushing yards (-115, BetRivers Sportsbook)
