It appears there’s at least one joke Druski might not mind having back.

The comedian appeared on “CBS Mornings” on Thursday and showed remorse for the controversial Jaxson Smith-Njigba quip he spouted while on-stage at NFL Honors in San Francisco earlier this month.

“I like to mess around,” the 31-year-old said. “And sometimes you can go too far.”

While announcing Smith-Njigba as the winner of the 2025 Offensive Player of the Year trophy at the annual NFL awards show, Druski purposely mispronounced the Seahawks receiver’s name over and over again.

In total, he said the Seattle star’s last name incorrectly four times — before he settled on just calling him “JSN.”

While talking with Gayle King and Nate Burleson, he said he messaged Smith-Njigba after the event, in what seemed to be an attempt to apologize.

Comedian @druski reached out to Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, after using a racial slur while mispronouncing the name of the Offensive Player of the Year at the NFL Honors for the 2025 season.

“I reached out. I reached out,” he said. “You know, congratulations to him, the team on the Super Bowl. I think that was an amazing thing. And, yeah, I didn’t get no response back.

“But I did reach out.”

Druski, though, made it clear he wasn’t going to the let the controversial bit affect his comedy going forward.

“When we talk about walking the line of comedy, sometimes you do have to take that chance,” he said. “I think it is not all going to be a successful hit. Nothing you do in anything when you’re trying to pursue greatness is going to be success, success, success.”

He later added, “I think if most people pronounce that name, I think they will kind of fumble up.”
