Collaborating with the Queen of Country? What a way to make a living!

Sabrina Carpenter released a new rendition of her 2024 song “Please Please Please” for the new deluxe edition of her “Short n’ Sweet” album, which dropped on Valentine’s Day.

The singer, 25, teamed up with Dolly Parton, 79, to release a country version of “Please Please Please.”

The duet saw the musicians in a vintage-inspired music video that appeared to have a not-so-subtle nod to Carpenter’s ex-boyfriend, Barry Keoghan.

Keoghan, 32, was featured in the original music video for “Please Please Please” during the course of their relationship. In the video, the real-life lovers become a couple after he is released from jail. However, after Keoghan returns to his criminal ways and is arrested again, Carpenter takes matters into her own hands. She handcuffed him to a chair, taped his mouth shut and kissed him.

Carpenter then left her love behind in an empty warehouse.

In the new music video, Carpenter hits the road with Parton as they belt out the lyrics of the track. Parton is later seen handing a shovel to her co-conspirator, who stands behind the truck. The police eventually catch up to the duo, chasing them as the camera then pans to a male who is handcuffed in the back of the truck with a sack on his head — sporting the same outfit as Keoghan did in the original video.

The video, which was filmed in Nashville per a press release obtained by People, ends with Carpenter pulling over to the side of the road and shaking her head as the person in the back attempts to scream and bang on the truck.

The song also had a lyric change, with Carpenter and Parton singing in turns, “I beg you, don’t embarrass me, like the others,” a switch-up from the original, “I beg you, don’t embarrass me, motherf – – ker.”

When “Please Please Please” was first released, it contained a series of cheeky lyrical references to the “Saltburn” star, including the line, “I heard that you’re an actor, so act like a stand-up guy.”

Carpenter and Keoghan dated on and off for roughly a year before going their separate ways in December 2024.

“They are both young and career-focused, so they’ve decided to take a break,” a source told People at the time.

The exes made their red carpet debut at the 2024 Met Gala.

Carpenter posted a snippet of the music video to her Instagram page, writing that she was “so honored” to collaborate with Parton.

“Dolly and me singing in a pickup truck!!!!!!” her caption read. “I am so honored to have one of my biggest idols on a song that means so much to me. ‘Short n’ Sweet’ deluxe is out now! Go watch and listen!!!!”

Carpenter, meanwhile, is hot off her Grammy Awards performance earlier this month, where she performed “Please Please Please” and  “Espresso” for the live audience.

At the ceremony, the artist won two gramophones: Best Pop Solo Performance for “Espresso” and Best Pop Vocal Album for “Short n’ Sweet.”
