For the first time this week, the Giants had their two best defensive players on the field.
Dexter Lawrence and Brian Burns both practiced, which is good news for their availability on Sunday against the Eagles.
The duo were limited and are being listed as questionable.
“[It’s] better than the alternative,” coach Brian Daboll said.
Burns has been slowed by a groin injury, while Lawrence has a hip problem.
The Giants are already without edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux (wrist surgery).
Not having either Burns or Lawrence would significantly impact the defense.
Running back Devin Singletary is expected to return after missing the last two games with a groin injury.
What does that mean for rookie Tyrone Tracy Jr.?
Daboll plans to use both of them against the Eagles.
Tracy has run for 179 yards the last two weeks, and added 57 yards receiving on six receptions in last Sunday night’s loss to the Bengals.
He saw limited action when Singletary was healthy, but that will change moving forward.
“He’s earned it. He’s done a good job, so he’ll get plenty of playing time,” Daboll said. “[Devin], we’ll see how the game’s going and how it transpires. But [he] will play, Tracy will play, [Running back Eric] Gray will play. We’ll use all three of those guys.”
Punter Jamie Gillan (left hamstring) and defensive back Adoree’ Jackson (neck) are out. Defensive back Dane Belton (illness) is questionable. … Linebackers D.J. Davidson (shoulder) and Ty Summers (hamstring) and receiver Darius Slayton (groin) were limited, but all three are expected to play.
The Eagles will be without tight end Dallas Goedert (hamstring) and offensive tackle Jordan Mailata (hamstring).
